Anyone else get fraudulent credit card charges recently?
« on: March 09, 2016, 04:31:11 PM »
 ???

Two credit cards that I recently used with Toydemon were used in fraudulent transactions in the last week. One transaction even used the email address todemon@<mydomain>.com, which I've not used anywhere else but it's very close to toydemon@<mydomain>.com which I have used exclusively with Toydemon.

I reported it to TD and I think they have reasonable security measures, but has anyone else been hit with fraudulent charges lately?

Been a customer with TD for years but never had any fraud issues that you are having. If both of your cards are used, did you double check your own computer for malware/virus?

Or if you're concerned, maybe you can create a paypal account use paypal express, that way you don't type in any credit card numbers and paypal handles it. However, make sure that your computer is clean so they don't steal your login and pw as well.

We're sorry to hear you are experiencing trouble with fraudulent charges on your credit cards.

We have had our web team, developer, and server provider looked into this matter deeply and have found no signs of irregularity on our system. From our end, we protect our customers with a more strict policy than others by not keeping any of your card information on any of our systems.

When you checkout, your information is sent to our card processor and they tell us if the charge was successful or not. We only receive the last four digits as reference and do not have any access to the entire card information. Even our recent "save credit card" option is one where your information is kept at Paypal without access to the information for us.

We do encourage everyone to protect your personal computer systems with some type of virus/malware software and make sure it's updated and running/scanning on a regular basis to ensure your system is safe from any outside intrusions.

I have many orders in the past from TD but have not seen any fraudulent charges that was related to here. But I have also been victimized by virus and hackers which has hacked my email and other accounts before....to be honest...in this day in age.....nothing is safe anymore the more we spend our time on the cyber space. :o

Same here - never a fraudulent charge in the many years I have been a customer. I have not even received spam email that could be attributed to my browsing the store or the forums.

I hope you reported this fraud to the credit card company and you now have a replacement card. It's a good idea to have your credit card company monitor for suspicious transactions, even if it requires the occasional phone call to validate your purchase. Financial fraud is just a fact of today's life - it helps to take precautions.
