Sorry, we have been quite busy and totally forgot about updating you guys on part 2.

So after we did check the returned Cobra Libre, we deemed it as opened (whether it was used or not, we rather not take that chance) and emailed him back that the product was opened, and as stated in our policy, we cannot take back opened item for sanitary and safety reasons. He then replies back saying that he'd like the product shipped back to him so he can "investigate" it. He had then placed another order and have us ship it together with the new order. We figured we will ship it back together to him as he says and shipped it together with a signature requirement.

After we ship his new order and the Cobra Libre back to him..........we don't hear from him for a couple of weeks. Then one day we received a chargeback from the credit card company. Guess what, it is from this guy. He had filed a charegback on his first order with his bank stating the reason merchandise not received. We simply gathered all the information, the pictures we took, along with his emails that he had wrote us about how he wants to return the Cobra Libre, and how he needs it back to "investigate". Needless to say, after a couple of more weeks. The credit card company ruled in our favor and gave us the fund back. However, we already lost $20 because of the chargeback that he initiated.

Now you guys are probably thinking, what a jerk this guy is!!! BUT, the story is not over!

Another few weeks passed, this guy puts in another chargeback with his credit card company and this time on the 2nd order which we shipped to him with the returned Cobra Libre. His chargeback reasoning this time was that it was an unauthorized charge.

Can you believe this guy???!??!?! We again sent in all the information and all the emails and also the signature. Luckily we got our money back again in a few weeks. However, we again lost $20 due to a chargeback.

In the end, because of this person, we started using void stickers to prevent cases like this from happening again. Not that we don't trust our customers, but it's easier this way to prove whether the item is opened or not (still apparently the Aneros guy still thinks he can claim he never opened it).

So there you go, the 2nd part to the story. Just writing about this still angers me. I suppose one positive to come out of this is that we did learn a lot in dealing with unreasonable customers and made sure that we implement more measures so that people like him will not be able to scam us again.

goodness...what a douche! ...I have to agree that these kind of people definitely do not deserve to buy anything online and should be denied a credit card.... But these days with big credit card corporations making on money with customers charging everything on credit cards...i really doubt cc company would deny him.. unless of course there's maybe a criminal record on him.

Man, that's so fucked up. Good thing the credit card companies sided with you guys. This guy should never be allowed to purchase products online. I wish there's a database that you can submit to and then they will be banned for life for all online purchases! Just pathetic! I think the sad part is that there's no consequence, I bet he still does it to all the other online shops, because the credit card company is not going to do anything to him. These ppl should get reported and arrested for online theft because I don't see a difference in terms of stealing thru a credit card, or stealing in person.

Don't worry people like him DO NOT go unnoticed in the credit card industry. People that do repeat chargebacks put themselves at risks to have their line of credit shut down. Especially when the merchant wins it is reflected negatively on their account as them filing false chargebacks. If the guy continued to do this type of stuff to stores chances are he doesn't have a card anymore and if he was doing this around 08-09 he really doesn't have  card anymore. When I worked at the bank dealing with CC's accounts used to get shut down a lot for that behavior. All that stuff goes on record with the bank.

captain awesome, that's awesome of you to share your experience. However, can't he just say go to a different bank?

For example, he does it with Amex cards, then next he'll just use discover cards, and then mastercards, that's offered by different bank/credit card companies.

Unless this is something that stays on his credit and when he applies for a new card it's all there?

  Very few banks actually own their own credit card. They pay bigger banks to put their smaller bank name on it. 1 bank can own Vista,Mastercard, and Amex no matter what bank you get it through. When you sign up for a new card you're really trying to get credit at the same bank. That's what FIA card services is. People that frequent charge backs used to have all kinds of "Red Flags" on their account. There was actually an alert on some accounts that would be left there by the department. I used to sometimes get merchants like the good people at Toydemon calling in to report people about CB's. All that stuff the merchant talks about gets notated into their account for life. If they told them that this guy brought a sex toy someone would actually have to note the case details on his account LOL. Of course you can only see it when you pull the case up but if they file a CB again people will have to check the old CB history too to find out if the person is abusing the CB policy.

Yeah, there's a lot of stuff banks do behind the scenes. They don't really do it to "protect" anyone other than themselves though. "Charge Back Abuse" costs the bank money and time. That's why they Charge merchants for charge back fees and keep records of how many times you use the CB service. The banks actually allow you to do 1 chargeback per year without question. That was in 08' so it might have changed now. I learned a lot from that job at the Bank. The only people that come out on top is the bank. I was one of the few "good guys" (as in giving a damn about my work) there. I actually used to close  peoples credit lines or send their credit account to be reviewed if it wasn't in my power (which usually meant it would end up being closed or the credit limit shaved down) when I saw people pulling stunts like this. In my book this is theft.

Man that's really interesting to know. It's "awesome" how you would go the extra step instead of just letting the scammers do whatever. If more bank employees were like you, maybe our economy wouldn't have crashed a couple of years ago!

What happens if you buy something and for all intents to use it, open the box to find there's a defect/slip in the QA? This has happened with at least 1 or 2 meikis I bought from TD but I lived with it.
