Important health issue
« on: June 16, 2010, 02:17:21 PM »
Hey, I'm thinking about ordering Meiki no Shoumei 5: Chou Shuu U.

However, I wanna know that it is Phthalates-free and that is doesn't contain any harmful substances or toxins. Could someone tell me whether that's safe? I mean, all i know is that meiki toys are made of silicone, which is harmless, but are there any phtalates like in cyberskin? Do Meiki toys smell?

which company produces them and stuff like that...

Cyberskin is an American proprietary blend of material. The products on our site shouldn't be label as "Cyberskin".

All products on our site is phthalate-free. Japanese material is considered the highest quality material in adult products. These materials are registered with the Japanese Health Ministry where as many China made products with "Cyberskin" and other blends does not have such regulation in China or USA.

Meiki ZXY and others in that series has a sweet smell to it as others on the forum can confirm. "Meiki" in Japanese is a term that currently at least 6 different companies are using after the success of the original Meiki products. "Meiki" in English is now the accepted correct name for these products after ToyDemon/OmochaDreams started to correctly naming the original. These products were incorrectly named U. R. before.

If you are extremely concern about material and do not take our word for it, then we recommend trying Kashin series. They are safe and the material was sent to the independent internationally recognized laboratory TUV to test for all known toxins. It passed without problem and the TUV result number can be checked online to confirm their finding.

My two Meikis have a very faint "neutral" scent - neither perfume nor chemical. It is so faint I would have to hold them with a half inch of my nose to smell it. And it doesn't transfer to your hands or skin.

I would say the meiki will have a "peachy" scent. it's definitely somewhat strong scent.. but it doesn't bother me..there are other silicone toys that has nasty tire smell.. haha... i wouldn't say the grease will stay on your hands for hours..just wash your hand with soap should get rid of it within a couple of minutes...at least in my experience.

HornyAzn, I have a Meiki ZXY and Meiki Maria Ozawa. It might be because I usually wash my hands after a session with them. I had one toy (Danni's Fantasy Boobs - what a waste of money) that had a bad chemical smell that would stay on your hands no matter if you washed them. God only knows what it was doing to other parts of my body. It was so useless I eventually put it in its box and tossed it in the back of my closet. One day I was digging around in my closet for something and noticed a strong checmical smell. I eventually found the box the boobs were in. There was some kind of oily substance that had leaked from them and soaked the box. I had a pair of jeans on top of the box that also absorbed the smell. I had to throw them out as well as the box o' boobs. They looked great but were horrible otherwise.

All of my toys come with some silicone/hydrocarbon smell that is neither pleasant or repulsive, and I just wash them with mouthwash or hand soap, either does the trick and then they don't smell anymore.  My Maria Ozawa smelled before I used hand soap, then its regular sweet faint smell appeared.  The ZXY had a longer lasting silicone smell, but after two washes it was fine.

My understanding is that, like the rest of the world, sex toys are not regulated in Japan while things like childrens toys are, and manufacturers can get away with using whatever toxic materials they want. So my question is, what evidence is there to suggest that the materials used in Meikis are indeed phthalate-free?

On some other websites it's said the material is TPE (thermo plastic elastomer). And also from what I know, PVC has to contain Phthalates if it wants to be flexible. How do we know which one is which, I would question myself if the same brand of chocolate lists different ingredients from the other store.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, didn't want to make a new duplicate... I'm curious about this too
