I tried to find comparisons for the two hips in numerous places including YouTube, but never could find the answer I was looking for.

It seems the original has great reviews for being ultra realistic, but reviews on the newer hip are scant. The newer hip is duel layered and looks more appealing to the eye on the surface, but is it an upgrade to sensation and realism from the original?

I'll see if I can find anything for you. I spent some time looking at those myself. From my admittedly bad memory I think people rated the original much better. As with all these toys take everything you read and distill it through what you like and add a grain of salt. Everyone is different and things I love others don't take to. If I come up with anything I'll post it here.

This is a good question. And as usual, the answer is preference dependent. So here is my short answer:

If you are like me, where long sessions are the norm and the soft touch is mandatory to prevent penile erosion, the EPH is for you. If you like more intense stimulation and are into quickies, then EPH Shinsei is your goto hip. Both anal passages are identical, but the vaginal tunnel on the Shinsei is dual-layered and of a firmer texture, providing more intense stimulation.

The original Meiki Extreme Pleasure Hip (EPH) is my number one favorite hip. I have tried most of the hips on TD and none come even close. To date I have ordered and received four EPH over a period of six years. They just wear out after dedicated use over time. And that is the one and only gripe I have with soft toys in general. But while they last - oh my!

I'll add my .02.  My preference in toys is for as soft as it gets, 9 or 10 on the TD scale, so keep this in mind when reading my opinions.

I have owned both hips, first the EPH then I ordered the EPH Shinsei when the EPH became unusable.  I consider the EPH as my all time fav and the most realistic toy I've ever tried.  It is on the softer side and not as stimulating as some of the more popular toys like the ZXY, but that is part of what makes it more realistic.  Heat up the toy with a warmer and close your eyes, you will forget that you're fucking a toy.  TD rates this as an 8 in softness, but it feels a little softer than that to me, maybe an 8.5.

I bought the Shinsei when the original wore out.  It is a little bigger than the EPH, by maybe 15-20%.  It is noticeable more stimulating, but not as realistic because of this.  TD also rates this as an 8, which is accurate to me.

Both toys have that all encompassing feeling that makes these hips so different from a sleeve and can be rocked back and forth when placed on the edge of a table to kind of "fuck you back".  Both are difficult to clean and trickier to store.

I hope this helps, but you can't go wrong with either one.  Unless you require really stimulating toys in the 5-7 softness range.  If this is the case, the EPH series may be too soft for you.

I have tried many Fleshlights, Soloflesh, Lilth uterus, Meiki Maria, a few generic toys from sex shops and toydemon over the years, and the Meiki ZXY. The ZXY being the best sex toy I have ever tried, and the most realistic.

I would say I am a fan of softer toys. Harder toys just irritate and desensitize me.

Sounds like the original pleasure hip is the best for me.

If softer toys are your thing, then the EPH Original will be perfect for you. Please post a review when you have had your way with her. We would love to hear your experience.

Also, the lube makes a big difference. My personal favorites are the Meiki Bliss Lotion or the Onatsuyu Pussy Juicy Lotion. I add distilled water to thin both down to 50/50. This increases the stimulation of the tunnels and also makes the lube last longer.
