Meiki Plush Doll too small :(
« on: June 23, 2016, 01:08:04 AM »
Just got my Meiki Plush doll and am really bummed about how small it is. It's almost kid size.

Wanted to ask if there are anything like the MPD but in a bigger size, maybe 30% bigger? From the description, the Venus R is about the same size and its the only other comparable product I know of.

In the mean time I'm thinking about ways of modding it to make it bigger.

Also is the Meiki Plush hip the same size as the hips of the MPD?

I suppose so. I didn't bother to check the measurements but it looked a little larger. Sorry. I don't understand why the teddy babes are so expensive.

Teddy Babes are full bodies and have wire skeletons.  The added size and complexity demands a higher price.  Actually compared to a silicone or TPE doll they are a bargain for their size, and light weight too.

I have all three dolls you mentioned - MPD, Teddy Babes, and LV-R, so let me throw my 2 cents...

1) The Venus R and the MPD are  basically the same size. There are small variations on the hip and breast sizes, but in terms of high / proportions they are equal.

2) The MPD is not child sized! The proportions are comparable to a petite adult woman - 5 ft to 5 ft 3 tall. Remember that you are dealing with just a torso - no head or limbs - so it will look smaller.

3) The Teddy Babes in fact are child sized. The regular TB is less than 5 ft tall and use girl's clothing size 10-12. The MPD / LVR use clothes size Small (Adult 2-4).

4) If you want a plush doll that is really life size, Teddy Babes Deluxe ($1,200), the 160 cm Anime doll (1 AM USA) or Textile Dolls  are your only options at this time. Those dolls measure between 5ft-3 and 5ft-6 and use adult sizes small or medium.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the info Casquetero! The Teddy Babes and other options are a bit too much for me right now, especially since I just want a torso like the MPD . I think I will try putting a body suit on the MPD and stuff it to make it feel thicker.

Casquetero is the puppet masta! I've read some of your posts on DG!

I've actually been spending a lot of time over there lately as well. I've considered owning a doll for a long time. What's held me back is the price. I can't really swing the money it cost for a real doll. However, I just started researching the TPE alternatives and am really intrigued. My price range and my back sort of have me stuck in the 140 cm class but the smaller scale dolls make me somewhat uncomfortable due to their juvenile stature. Idk, maybe I should get over it.  ???
