Condom and sex toy

Hello all,
I notice that condom has the ability to prevent the user from STD but can condom protect us, for example, from bacteria harboured in sex toy or leached chemical from sex toy? Does anyone know anything about this?
Most condoms are pre-lubricated, what type of lubricant do they use, water based, silicone, etc.? I assume they do not contain harmful chemical but I think it's good to know if they can disclose the lubricant ingredients used in their condoms.
Can you share your thought? Thanks.

I think it's going WAY out of the way to use condoms with sex toys that you don't share. If I was worried that the toy I was using was harmful, I wouldn't use it in the first place.
As far as what type of lube is on condoms, most are water based. It is cheaper than silicone and therefore most common. However, I can say that some Japanese brands and Durex Extra Sensitive condoms have lube that is slick and sticky enough to make me think it might be silicone. So if you are set on using condoms with a toy you can't get pregnant or catch STDs from, buy unlubed condoms and use the lube of your choice.

What's your worry about bacteria? As mentioned, unless you're sharing, I don't see the problem. But no, bacteria doesn't pass through a condom. Certain viruses *might*, as they are far smaller. If in doubt, don't share. (Or, share only with someone you know is tested STI- free and monogamous with you). Chemicals? Petroleum chemicals will break down a condom, so vaseline etc. is far more dangerous to that than to your weiner. If worried, just go for phalate-free etc. toys. IMO even the cheaper toys are far safer than sex with another human, so long as they are kept clean and dry.
