Did they change the material in the ZXY?

I am on my second ZXY and could have swore that the material (inside layer) in the first was softer and lighter in color. Did they change it to be tougher to make it more resistant to tearing?

I haven't found any source that says they made an update to the zxy.
How does your second one feel compared to your first? More real/less real? More stimulating? less?
