i have yen jyu yi and at first it feels amazing now somehow it feels different cannot pinpoint exactly. i only flush it with water. i have fleshlight and know you have to put cornstarch on the interior too to preserve the material, would the meiki also need the same care? any thoughts or experiences would be gladly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum manuel89.

I also have the YJY and other meikis and I never found it necessary to powder the interior.  I do occasionally powder the exterior when it gets too tacky and because it's a good idea to do it anyway.  I hope that helps.

I think what damaged my meiki was the paper towel I use to dry the inside. It might have been removing the meiki interior and I think the meiki has naturals oils in it that could have been removed by the paper towels

My method for drying the inside is to carefully stuff a microfiber cloth into the meiki and give it a squeeze.  Then slowly pull it out.  I've been using this method exclusively for years and it doesn't seem to hurt any of my meikis, but YMMV.  Just be really careful during the insertion of the cloth.
