Julia + anyone?
« on: June 10, 2013, 03:18:33 PM »

You know... I don't know if I'm the only one thinking this but I just want to come out and say this. Julia + has really exceeded my expectations. It feels better than most of the meiki's. It's so tight and stimulating and it's a dual layer plus it has those nice boobies than can also provide a boob job. When you use it you make faces like this ----> :o and it hasn't shown any splitting or breakage. How is such an amazing toy like this even possible.

It's thinner than ZKY but it's entrance is tighter. ZeXY has that hump you have to fight in the middle but Julia lets you slide in without resistance. The sensation you feel hit you on all sides. The deeper you go the more you can feel it like it has no end.

So thats how its gonna be Cap'n?  I'm trying desperately NOT to spend any money for a bit and you drop a nuclear bomb on my head on the ONE toy Id break my resolve for.

I should kill you. I ought to. But then how would I decide what to buy next?  :P :P :P

I've only used mine once, but I don't like it too much. The material inside seems to be harder and more generic feeling than the Meiki stuff. Maybe I just need to break it in.

EVERY toy has both a break in period AND an adjustment period. Material has to break down, you have to get used to the sensations, master lube techniques for THAT particular Meiki, etc.

I wouldnt judge ANY toys qualities until after double digit usage over a period no more than a month.

Ive had so many toys change completely given use and adjustment time.  So much so I refuse to review anything until Ive had it at least a couple months in which Ive used it near or top of the rotation.

Give it time. Give everything time.  8)

It's true that the texture is harder, though. It also costs less, so it could feel more "generic" than the $80+ ones.
But in the end you have at a great price, something that is more durable than the Meiki dual layers. Can't argue that.
If you're afraid it feels "too hard", though, you might better go for something softer.
Top recommendations 1: Julia + (intense, realistic sensations at a not-so-intense price) 2: First Sexual Experience (personal favorite)
3: Wet Meiki SHIN (revolutionary soft but gripping material). Honorable Mention: Tomax 2D Wavy Ripple (great for transition hand-> toy)

Never had any meikis but for a first toy it took several sessions to break into and was very stimulating (too much for weak me)

I know many around here love the Julia+, but I have to agree with Whatman.  I've had it for several months now and only used it 3 times.  It's just too hard for me, feels almost rough at times.  But point taken about the break-in period, I've noticed that too especially with dual layers.

No disrespect SB but aren't you pretty much a sworn "softie" from what I remember?  I feel your pain because Im only leaning that way and its already causing havoc with toy buying.

I cant speak to the Julia but I know the Tong Ggo did a complete 180 on me after about 10 or so runs. Like you said though, the first few weren't pleasant especially compared to a Meiki. When I had my everyday ZXY go down, I flipped to the Tong waiting for fundage to replace w/a Meiki. VERY surprisingly, the Tong softened quite a bit. Meiki soft, no, but enjoyably soft/firm if such a thing can exist.

We are all built different though so YMMV as they say. Still, always try to break in something unless its just too unpleasant. Ive had this phenomenon happen with all sorts of toys.  Some stuff is just made "awful" right off the bat. Not sure why but it is.

You are absolutely right Universal, I do prefer the softer meiki's.  I bought the Julia+ before my sensitivity level got as high as it is now.  I was also swayed by reviews and the fact that you couldn't get one if you wanted to at the time.

I do believe there is such a thing as a break-in period to a point, but I respectfully disagree with your theory of toys "softening" over time.  I believe that the length of time you are referring to is the amount of time required for you to become less sensitive and adapt to the toy you are using.  The same thing happened to me in reverse, I got more sensitive because I only used softer toys for a length of time.  Kind of a reverse DGS if you will.

I believe I could re-adapt to the more stimulating sleeves if I start to use it again, I'm just not sure I want to yet.  In my current state, I can feel the interior textures much more than I ever could before, even with the softest toys.  This really encourages slower, longer sessions which I'm starting to favor.

But it's just a theory, no idea if I'm right or way off.

I think you hit the nail on the head. There is *some* breakdown in the material but you aren't going to turn a Julia into a Meiki via use. They are too far apart on the spectrum.

As for "softie", I've not joined the cult yet but Im certainly reading the literature.  :P  The cool part is, if soft is your cup of tea, there's a lot to chose from unless you get into like cloud soft (venus ultra softs or I think theres an ectoplasm line somewhere)

I think Julia is a fun outlier, especially for those who have LOTS of toys, therefore variety.  I, myself, worry that Ive grown too used to "soft" and a hardish toy would languish in my toybox. Heck, I thought the Tong was too "hard" and its rated as soft as the dual layer Meikis. (it got a lot better after a time but its still not the same IMHO)

Things break down to a point. (I KNOW my Tong material got softer. I was fighting with it at entry so adjustment couldnt come into play.,) And you are adjusting as you go along too.  (insides, patterns, usage frequency, etc)

Its a shame that there are so few people willing to openly discuss these sorts of things because there is a TON of variation and knowledge out there. Because I was feeling particularly brutal towards myself, I looked over my whole 10 years of toy buying and realized I wasted at least a grand on utter junk. But you can only know what you know at the time and what people are willing to share with you.

Hence, TD forums rock.  I'll spend as much or more but the percentage of "quality buys" will finally be a majority, not a minority.  8)

Sounds like some of you guys have some duds. My Julia feels heavenly. Probably better than half the meiki's I own. The dual layer is nice and soft too, just a tad bit more stimulating than ZeXY. No breaking, No Rips, No nothing but sheer pleasure.

Not discounting personal opinion but look at the report cards.

ZeXY

https://www.toydemon.com/Meiki-Zhang-Xiao-Yu-Choo-Shuu-U.html

Julia

https://www.toydemon.com/Julia-Plus.html

Sort of two sides of the scale. We can argue the validity of said scale but at least the web source thinks its different enough to make note.

Just food for thought.

P.s. Noticed the website store was all busted up then magically fixed itself once you started posting in the forums Capn Awe. We're we doing a little wish listing?  So much so we bogged down the store's servers did we?  :P :P :P

Does anyone know what the internal length is like compared to the Maria Ozawa Meiki? For me another inch of insert length or even half would be perfect. (I keep hitting the end of my Maria Meiki)
