Yes, that's what I found out by trial and error that you should use only the lowest temperature necessary to remelt the toys or all you did was produce noxious fumes.

 :)

Thanks for the tutorial, I went out and got an adjustable iron. Sarah and Maria thank you. I was able to finish both their surgeries and even reconstruct their labias. I felt like the doctor I never went to school to become. Now I can call myself Dr. Captain Awesome and know I don't have to pay $400,000 in medical school loans just to have that title!  ;D

It's nice to hear that your "surgeries" went well. Now whenever I see tiny cracks developing, I just go ahead and touch them up lightly with the soldering iron before they even have a chance to grow larger.

That Meiki Plush really tied the room together.

This is, without question, the best upkeep post in the forums.  Hopefully some new Meiki converts stumble on it like I did.

So after no more than 7 uses my Meiki Maria has developed a slight hole at the side. I've noticed it soon enough so that I can put it aside and attempt to fix it, without making it any bigger than it already is.

I'm no good at soldering though. Better yet, I am horrible at it. But the hole is not too complicated other than it developed a little bit inside the crack that has developed.

My best guess is that I'll use material from a different side rather than melt the hole together, because the area at which it happened (the side) was thin to begin with. If I start to heat it up, it will only get worse I guess.

Can I cut some material from the back and then just melt it on top of the hole? It would be somewhat convenient so that I don't have to mess with areas that could potentially ruin the toy. I could just paste some extra material on top of the damaged area.

I hope someone can help me, and more so that the question makes any sense at all.  :P

Edit: Added a picture. Excuse the poor quality, but as you can see it is pretty much the side, most likely the area that most of the defect Meiki Maria' suffer from. I think the area in question is too thin to reinforce with the material in place. Then again I don't know anything about this stuff, that's just my best guess. Where would I remove extra material from? The backside seems to have quite a bit, but not sure if that will work.
