Sarah 007 Review w/pics
« on: December 01, 2012, 10:51:30 PM »
Baby hair with a woman's eyes... I can feel your watching in the night... all alone with me... and we're waiting for the sunlight...when I feel cold you warm me...when I feel i can't go on you come and hold me it's you...... and me forever....Sarah!!!

Well, I got my box of goodies today from the Black Friday sale. I wanted to try Sarah some time ago but reviews were always mixed so I figured it was the perfect time to check her out since the price was so decent. So here is my simple review about Sarah.

;D Sarah arrived to me in the usual TD box in side a box. She had her numbers marked on the side with a sticker 007 so I knew it was the right one. The packaging like most Meiki's shows some shots of Sarah doing what AV actresses do. I don't know much about Sarah other than the videos of her doing random stuff on youtube. So I tossed the box aside to take a look at what was inside. First glance you take a look at Sarah's Meiki and realize how much smaller it is compared to just about every other Meiki but the 008 Hibiki. I was somewhat let down by the size but figured not to prejudge it.

:) Now, Sarah's Meiki is a cool one because of the "lips" being the gimmick with the entry hole that captivates you etc. etc. But, my Zxy also has the same lips and entry hole. Some how it just split like that with the lips being separate and covering the entry canal like the real thing. I can only say that the entry point on Sarah and my Zxy felt identical because of it only with Sarah being more "lippy" and engaging.

:P Texture wise I didn't really feel the ride with Sarah. The biggest sensation is from the entry point grasping you and after that it's kind of "okay what's next" kind of feeling. Just really a ho hum experience. It's not as defined as Maria or my favorite Yen Ju-yu. What I found to be mostly different is how soft Sarah is inside and out over the other meiki's. Her dual layer seems to be much softer than XYZ and YJY. The exterior compound is also a lot softer. She's like a mix of Hibiki 008 and XYZ. That's the best way I can describe it. Because she's so soft and there's not much weight to it you can't get the same "bounce" you can with her as you might with some of the other more bottom heavy Meiki's. Sarah is more like Hibiki in that regard except I found Hibiki more stimulating. If you flip Sarah up or down it just all kinda felt the same with moderate differences between doggy or missionary positions.

Now the bad part  :(  I heard that Sarah had some QC problems but I just figured it was maybe someone elses bad luck until I saw that my Sarah had torn at the interior entrance. Upon inspection I also found the all too familiar pink dual layer fragments around the entrance. Not only did is tear but it also was breaking apart  :o on the first use at that. I guess I forgot to mention that generous Maria juice was applied to avoid it from tearing but it still happened. That's also another thing Sarah is a lube hog for some reason she seems to need more than the average Meiki. I was pretty disappointed that she broke but I guess that's why NPG went back to the single layer. I hope she's able to hold up for more future trials and the tear doesn't spread.

If anything I learned to be extra gentle with the dual layers but they seem to have a shorter life span than the single layer toys. So Overall my opinion of Sarah is "Undecided". I didn't exactly dislike it but I didn't find anything about it to be excited about. She's kind of like the "Lettuce" of Meiki's. You know just kind of there..She's no man eater by any means.

Would I recommend this to a friend? I dunno... I think the Quality verses performance is a major issue. These probably should have been recalled because the tearing and breakage..."I just can't go for that". Especially when  it breaks after the first session of "one on one". I guess you can say Sarah left me feeling kind of "out of touch" compared to the other meiki's in the 00X roster.

 8) CA

Here's a picture of Sarah compared to Hibiki 008

After using this one time this is what happened. Splits and Tears :(

You can see where it split and the dual layer materal was breaking off at the entrance. There was pink stuff everywhere. I didn't notice the lip was torn/tearing until I took these shots. This happened only after using it once. A lot of Maria juice was applied to the toy so it's not from friction. This one seems to be quite defective.

I'm really sorry to hear about your experiences Captain, the things you mentioned is the reasons I kind of stayed away from Sara.  And like you I've been on the fence for awhile and almost pulled the trigger several times in the past.  Then again, my ZXY has been shedding little pink bits with every use for a long time now and she's still a lot of fun!  Hopefully your Sara can last at least as long too.  And I think you are right about the reasons NPG went back to single layer designs.

I really wouldn't throw her out though, you would miss her when "She's gone".  And is it possible that you haven't tried the new technique, the one they call the "Method of modern love".  Hey if it works, you could end up with "Everything your heart desires".   :P

I know, pretty bad...

Great review captainawesome, darn..the interior is got some issues ...I love everything about the look of the Sarah, I just think this could of been the successor to ZXY if it wasn't for that inner layer problem.  :(

I really like my Sarah a lot, but it too developed cracks at the entrance soon after I got it, and I also noticed tiny bits of the inner layer flaking off with each use. Fortunately, the cracks were easily remedied with my soldering iron, however, I do wonder how long it will take for the inner layer to completely wear off. Still, I have to say that the Sarah is one of the most realistic feeling hand masturbators I own, which includes the likes of the ZXY, Maria, DNA Clones, Chika and 008. However, because of it's potential fragile nature, I tend to use my single layer toys more often, and I reserve my dual layer toys for special occasions. Right now I'm really enjoyng my NPG Chika, so much so that I bought a backup one. However, I'll warn people that this toy tends to develop a crack on the top and bottom of the narrow entrance and that these cracks can grow quickly in size if left alone. Therefore, it's my recommendation that you repair cracks/splits right away with a soldering iron, even if you are in the middle of a session. After doing this you should be fine for a very long time.  By the way, this advice goes for any of your elastomer toys. When you see a crack that looks like its going to grow, go ahead and fix it.

I remember writing about this issue with the Sarah earlier this year. If you look at the attached pictures you will see that my Sarah developed cracks in the same spots. However, these can be easily remedied with a soldering iron. What I did was use a section of toilet paper roll to hold the outer lips open, and then I melted the central pink elastomer "flap" into the two cracks. The pink elastomer actually melts easier then the cream colored silicone by the way. Of course the opening will seem a bit larger visually, but it feels just as good as before when in use.

 Thanks for all the replies!

Just disappointed it broke like this after only 1 time. The quality was really lame compared to XYZ and YJY they both broke but only after putting some mileage on them.

haha I think you're the only one that got it  ;D

This one caught me by surprise that it came apart so soon. I remember it took a white for ZXY to start breaking apart but when it did the lips had already split like Maria's so it wasn't so bad. The entrance on mine actually held up but the interior was mostly gone.

Dave I don't know how you do it. All your soldering work is like Magic and looks even better than before. How do yah do it? Actually it was your pictures that made me order one because the interior looked so good.

That is kind of like what I experienced with YJY which was similar to your Sarah.  From first use it started "shedding" large bits of pink interior which got worst over time.  I liked the feel of the YJY, just not the durability.  Because of this, I tend to only use YJY once in a great while.  My ZXY on the other hand was like yours.  It took a little while for the problem to start.  But I've been lucky when it comes to tears, as only my newer meiki's(EC, HO) developed tears that I had to fix.

It could be that we're just older than everybody else?  I don't know how old you are, but I think I'm old for this crowd.  I was actually alive and old enough to remember those songs on the radio! :D

That sucks to see and a shame they don't have better durability for this sleeve.

I got my Sarah today and while I haven't tried it out, I did take a look and can easily see how tears happen. The sleeve looks pretty badass though and the opening looks incredibly realistic.

Re: soldering repairs
« Reply #13 on: December 04, 2012, 08:09:04 AM »
I wouldn't hesitate to use a soldering iron to repair the cracks in your Meikis, but it's best to experiment beforehand on something cheap like a $10 Doc Johnson toy. So far it's been my experience that you should use the lowest temperature that reliably melts the elastomer, which seems to be around 450 -500F for NPG Meikis, and quite a bit higher for cheap toys. By the way, the tool I use is an old Hakko 936 soldering station with a chisel point. Years ago this cost me like $75, but you can purchase a similar model new for the same price as you would spend on a single Meiki. I guess it's probably not a bad idea to get yourself a good tool to keep your toys in tip top shape.

Incidentally, the way I do all my repairs is to proceed slowly and carefully so I don't melt away any more than is necessary to fix the problem.  If it's a crack I'll start on the sides and then melt material into the void. Then I'll leave the tip in the bottom of the defect for a few seconds to liquify everthing. After it cools off for a few minutes, I'll check the area out to see it's solid enough to resume use or give it another pass with the soldering iron.

Top-notch review CA. Such a depressing experience with the tears. Sarah was such a letdown to many for that reason. But I think she has the cutest looking exterior of any Proof of Meiki.

Oh, the 936 was a stellar station. Most units were Made in Japan. A great buy for its price point. And Hakko has some of the best customer service I've experienced. I was sad to find out they discontinued the 936 a couple years ago. The new model appears to be the FX-888, which has the fancy yellow/blue colors they seem to be gravitating toward.
