Is this considered a defect?
« on: November 27, 2012, 01:01:31 PM »
Hello there, I just purchased the Kashin 5 from the Black Friday Special and just received it today. Upon taking some photos for reviews i saw this after I opened the bag. I doubt it will affect usability but in the long run the little slit that seems to have happened from a razor or some similarly sharp blade and i'm afraid it will cause a tear that will cause it to be unusable in the long run.

Is this considered a defect and will I be able to get it replaced?

If that "slit" bothers you and you're worried about it spreading, you could always use a soldering iron or similar to round off the edges to keep it from getting larger.  The same method many around here use to keep rips and tears from spreading in our meikis.

Yea like everyone else said it doesn't look bad or like it'd affect usage of the toy. Like SB said repairs with a soldering iron are easy, but personally wouldn't worry about unless it seems to spread or get bigger during use.

i would also say since it's on the outside it's nothing to worry about. These things aren't computer chips or anything or monitors, so you can't expect perfection like 0 dead pixels or something like that. I'd say use it and if it really develops a problem within a short time, like 1-2weeks, then contact TD. If it's fine then it really should be fine going forward.

Might be part of the mold or it happened during the demolding process. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it at all just as long as it's not on the inside. Now as for splits at the opening, I try to solder them as soon as possible so they don't spread.  For some reason, it seems that cracks in certain toys spread quicker then in others so I don't take any chances. I just put the tip of a hot soldering iron in the crack for a few seconds like you see them do in the movies to cauterize a wound.  Sometimes I even melt in a little bit of the surround material just to make sure the "V" shaped part of the crack is "U" shaped. Then I'm good to go for quite some time. If that crack ever comes back I just do a little more soldering. Fortunately, by using this method I haven't had to retire any of my masturbator due to splits at the opening.
