Oooh, I see now! Two different girls! One is Eiro Chika, the other is Hibiki Otsuki. That's gonna confuse a lot of people, like it did me, because they both look almost identical!

I'm actually glad they went back to single layer. Opinions will differ but I find it more durable and less "rubbery" feeling than the inner glossy layer of the more recents

I agree! Meiki YJY was a waste of money for me because I hate the rough feel of the inner layer.

I wonder why NPG has gone back to single-layer? Dual-layer didn't turn out as well as they liked? How does it compare to Meiki Maria?

I think it was because Sarah was a defective flop. I was surprised to see people complaining about her overseas too. I'm just going to guess that the dual layers can't compare with the singles in terms of quality and longevity so maybe they dropped them for now till they can improve them? All I know is that all my dual layers Meikis had terrible tears that just kept spreading then they started to break off and separate. I was kinda annoyed too, they both weren't that old.

but the real question is what happened to Meiki 009?         There's 2 008's??? is this going to be like a new series? The Meiki Proof series, and there's really a dual layered Meiki 009 in the works somewhere?

I noticed that too..but Meiki proof 008 is Hibiki.. the Meiki Eiro Chica is actually the third product in the Meiki Hinkaku series which includes Meiki Up /  Down. Not sure what NPG is doing but o well..as long the toys  feels good..

I have some conflicting opinions about this.  The outside looks like the recent Eiro Chika.  All prior Proof of Meiki's seemed to have more original designs.  While single layers stand on their own, I'm still disappointed they went single layer instead of reinventing or improving the dual layer.  For example, my Seventeen Bordeaux shows no signs of wear or separation that apparently was  a problem in older Seventeens (which I never tried).  Plus, I would've at least liked to see an original outer design rather than just an Eiro Chika with a different interior.
