I've heard nothing but bad things about the cyber skin toys. I'd definitely choose a Fleshlight over cyber skin.

Cyberskin itself does a pretty admirable job of feeling like smooth (if somewhat delicate) skin. But that's just the surface sensation. Put that on an extremely well-constructed toy and it could be amazing.

But the material, by itself, isn't really the important part. It's who makes it and how well they make it. Just because, for example, Meiki can work magic with silicone doesn't mean that all silicone toys are good (they ain't), and just because somebody makes a crappy Cyberskin-type toy doesn't mean that all Cyberskin is terrible either.

I would say that Cyberskin really wants to be powdered (as in "you *must* powder it" instead of "powder for best results") and generally treated with much more care than the typical silicone toy. I also find that it's hard to ensure it gets powdered the way it needs to without having at least some residual powder getting all gummy and gross when lubed.

I was reading up on these cyberskin materials and came across this scary insight on the cyberskin toys..

"Most sex toys are made of a material usually referred to as jelly rubber, though you’ll also see variations like jel-lee, latex jelly, or derivatives like glow-in-the-dark and “realistic” materials such as softskin, Cyberskin or Futurotic. Jelly rubber toys are very colorful, clear (though not always), shiny and visually appealing. It’s the ultimate “mystery material”, mass-produced in mostly Chinese chemical factories with so many mixtures and versions of the material it’s difficult to pin down a set of manufacturer’s ingredients.

It is known that these mystery materials contain latex and  phthalates, they have a very chemical smell, they leach oils and can leave spots on fabrics and wood, and the surface breaks down over time. Softskin, Cyberskin and Futurotic toys are especially strange; while they feel amazingly real, they react bizarrely with other jelly rubber toys and actually melt into wet puddles of chemical goo upon contact — needless to say, don’t store these two materials side-by-side. Softskin is the most porous toy of all, able to absorb color from lipstick and even text from newsprint."  :o

these things melt when 2 of them touches!!!!! omg...

Yeah u really have to keep them cleaned with baby powder lmao, i really dont use babypowder just a lil dab, doesnt need it all the time just to keep the material new. Oh yeah did i mention that i was talking about my japanese sextoys?  ;D. But for the cyberskin toys, this giant butt toy i have i have to pour a ton of powder on it, so the material doesnt stick and it is nasty!! Feels like glue almost. :/ I am so glad that i am into japanese toys now, from this day forward i won't be touching any american based toys!!

Yeah, I can definitely confirm the melty thing. I had some toys packed away for a while and discovered later that I hadn't done a good enough job keeping them partitioned from each other and the cyberskin toy had melted. It wasn't spooky sci-fi or anything...it was exactly the same kind of melt you'd see if you used the wrong lube with the wrong material.

On a related note, always remember Wet Platinum is a silicone-based lube, not water-based.

Baaaaaad.

Here's a little rule of thumb: Like Disolves Like.
Have a toy with silicone? A Silicone lube will dissolve it.
Have a toy made from rubber? Oil based lube will dissolve it.

When in doubt, stick to water-based.
