I have a Meiki ZXY which I only bought around 2 months ago and the 2nd layer is already starting to deform and tear.

It's not like I used this extensively, only once a week.

Although I do like the Meiki extremely a lot and probably won't be able to go back to inferior toys, I'm pretty disappointed at the build quality.

That's inherent in the dual layer toys.  I had a Seventeen (original) that only lasted two sessions, a Seventeen Evo that only lasted 5, and my ZYX started to separate the 2nd time I used it.  So far this tear at the opening has not gotten bigger, but I will never spend the bucks for this type of toy again. 

I've noticed a trend here in the forum that alot of us are going back to the first and second generation NPG onaholes - like the Maria, Original Proof, Story EXP and OL.  They feel great and outlast the dual layer products by a wide margin.  They cost less too. 

Next time get the Maria or equivalent and I think you'll be glad you did

At least you got 2 months, my 006 tore on the first use and tore more today. Haven't had it for 2 weeks yet.Used plenty of lube first on the lips and inside, no reason for it to tear never used any "fast" action with it just a slow groove. Kinda ticked off about the quality.

My ZXY also tore inside after one or two uses (in three places).  It doesn't seem to really affect the feeling yet, but if the damage continues to accumulate then it might be unusable before too long.  These products are the best I've found so far, but NPG really needs to focus on durability in the future.  I've been contemplating the use of a soldering iron, but I doubt the results would be satisfactory or long-lasting.

From what vendor(s) did you buy your short-lived double-layer NPG products?  Do you think there's any chance they are counterfeits?

A credible website just like this one. It's not a counterfeit it's a material/design flaw that causes this.

Long time no post for me  I was wondering if any of the dual layers are worth purchasing then with all the tearing issues.  I'm 7.25" and I am pretty thick, so my concern is naturally tearing as well.  Should I skip thinking about purchasing one of the dual layers and just go for the Maria instead?  I was really thinking about the Sarah but I don't want to waste my money.  I'd buy the Maria and Sarah if they are both durable.

I'm about the same size as you and I would still recommend the "ZXY" despite the tearing issues.  I find myself using that one instead of the maria most of the time.  I also have the "Sarah" sleeve but it doesn't feel quite as nice to me personally (although I didn't see a tear after the first use).  Tearing seems to be a near universal problem regardless of size, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.  I think buying two sleeves is a great idea though; switching between them during a session is fantastic.

I actually decided to get the Sarah and Maria - hope they last longer than either of my two R-1's.  Very disappointed that I've invested so much money into inferior products :/
