yes you can bring it, but be prepared to have them ask questions about it and publicly humiliate you, if it doesnt bother you then you can do it.  or you can just have one of your bags checked in and you wont have to think about a possible public humiliation.  TSA officials will most likely take it out and ask you what it is, it isnt everyday they see one on screen.  you will probably get dirty looks from them and they may take it out in public and look at it further.  if you dont care about being seen with it in public dont worry about it.

I say bring it. If they take it out and ask you what is is. Tell them to put some lube in the hole, stick their fingers in and find out.

and make sure it's that 006 meiki lube too. Your plan can take off from Detroit and touch down in CA and it will probably leave a string of goo stretching 7 states wide.

unfortunately i'll be travelling in a group, so i definitely wont be able to handle the glare.... they wont check checkin? i meannnnn

Not in front of you or anyone else.  They do check some checked in luggage but that is only in the back out of sight, it is where the rotating belts take the luggage and people on monitors can see through the bags and look for anything suspicious.  i wouldnt worry about it though, it wont look like a gun, knife, or a bomb, so you should be golden to take it with you, just dont plan on joining the mile high club, not unless you fit in some luggage and find your bag for some mid-flight cargo bay lovin.
