My beloved First Sexual Experience was starting to wear out after almost two months of daily use, so I decided it was time to try something else. I've seen a lot of raving about the dual layer sleeves, but also a lot of cons about their durability and the layers becoming separated. I also like a tighter sensation. So after quite a lot of research, I picked the Seventeen Evo for my first dual-layer. I'm also a huge fan of the anime Sword Art Online, so for the price it was hard to resist the Sweet Asoko Online parody item. I'll start with that one.

Sweet Asoko Online
Let's get this out of the way: when you see a sleeve described as a "parody" item, it's not just a legal fiction to provide a fig leaf to avoid being sued. I don't really think these are intended for serious use, and if they are... well, that's pretty sad.

The sleeve that comes with SAO looks very tight in the pictures. The reality is that the material of which it's made is so thin, soft and stretchy, the inside so lacking in texture, that there's virtually no sensation at all. It's more like wearing and masturbating with a particularly thick ribbed condom.

The sole redeeming features of this product are the box art and the bottle of lube that comes with it. Both have some sexy Asuna art on them, and while the box is something I'll end up throwing in the recycling eventually, the bottle of lube is something I'll be refilling once it's gone. The lube itself is actually quite good.

I can only really recommend this to hardcore SAO fans like myself, and even that is pushing it at the price.

Seventeen Evo
This is my first dual-layer, and I have mixed feelings about it. It is indeed very tight, much tighter even than the First Sexual Experience that I loved, especially when you pinch the vacuum chamber before insertion. Doing this makes it feel a lot like a woman squeezing you, and it's really nice. There is a good variety of sensations from different angles depending on how you hold it, and the semi-realistic exterior makes it easier than the FSE to tell which side you have "up" before insertion. The main downside in terms of sensation is that the material both inside and out is very rubbery and doesn't feel realistic. You can mitigate this somewhat with a lot of lube, but it still doesn't have that lovely "skin" feeling of FSE. The tightness combined with this also means that if you have any hairs on your shaft, the friction is going to be uncomfortable unless you lube the outside of the entrance a little as well, because the material likes to grab your hairs.

But the main problem with this is indeed its durability. Granted, I'm a heavy user, usually at least once daily--but so are a lot of other people, so if you are, beware. It took less than two weeks for the inner layer to start separating, and while at first this wasn't a huge problem because the separation was inside rather than near the entrance... once the entrance separated a few days later, the thing became ruined and unusable.

All told, for a $40 sleeve I got less than three weeks of use out of it. That's about the same price as the FSE, which I am *still* using despite how loose and unstimulating it's gotten because of the way I abused it, and which *still* hasn't broken through (although it's damn close to doing so).

I can't really recommend this item unless you have money to burn, don't mind that it will wear out quickly, and/or aren't a heavy user. And it's made me *very* wary of dual layers, because durability is very important to me. I will definitely never again order the kind of dual layer that the Seventeen series seems to be, where there is a very clear and crisp delineation between the layers rather than a blending.

Summary
So yeah, that order was a little disappointing. This time I've ordered a replacement First Sexual Experience, because the value on that has been phenomenal. I'm also giving Shiina Hikaru a try, taking a chance on another dual layer of a different type. Both should arrive today or tomorrow.

I think the order was Seventeen, seventeen evo, seventeen bordeaux, seventeen evo soft ... they're all a bit different so I'm not sure if one is better than the other in terms of comparing which order they came in..
