It just adds an extra day or two for the delivery just by handing the package over to the local USPS office.

Also, you don't get a tracking number from USPS once FedEx hands the package over to them.

I've been waiting for over 12 hours today because FedEx tracking showed that it was out for delivery, even though I have no idea how they put that in their tracking log when USPS has the package. Anyways, it's past 8 p.m., and the delivery is still not here, and the expected delivery date turned into N/A.

I'm seriously worried here that they might have lost the package, and if they did, I don't know who to call and get help from. I'm pretty sure each of them will blame the other, and since I don't even have the tracking number for USPS because I doubt they scanned the package, I can't even make a claim against them or ask them about where the package is.

The free shipping/hybrid carrier thing is kind of hit or miss. If FedEX handles the entire operation it's fine and plenty accurate but when it goes from USPS to FedEX it sometimes leaves you like  :o wheres my package. USPS is okay for simple small stuff but large (expensive) orders make you go  ???. When your item isn't showing up after a few days and you just hope the boys at the Post office haven't goofed up.

I usually would specified the shipping method on my order...pay a few bucks and get the service I trust *cough*FedEx*cough* ...I really do not trust USPS with my online purchases unless it's something that I don't mind losing... not too sure how smart post works...

haha i agree with Hardgay.

If you want it a certain way, then pay for it.

Ever since I lost my package with USPS, I have always paid for FedEx ground / home delivery for that peace of mind. I know when to expect it and at least have full tracking if it doesn't show up. Especially when it's something more expensive, since I already save on tax on most online purchases anyway.

I have chosen free shipping from TD before and I have mostly gotten it USPS I think. But I am located in the same state as them, so that might be why. But I hate USPS so I started to pay for fedex instead when my order is big. I would rather not take the risk with USPS.

Now that we are talking about USPS, it puts me into a ranting mode again!!!!

Why is it that governments send important time sensitive mail thru them as well!?!?!! If they lose it I am the one to blame!! It blows!

One time USPS lost my $200 amazon gc that I redeemed thru my credit card reward points. I was so pissed because it was $200!!!! I called the credit card company and told them that I never received them, they were nice enough to replace them for me and send it out again. So I have always tried to avoid USPS whenever I can, they just don't give a shit, the ppl working there don't give a shit.

Yea FedEx Smartpost is garbage. Used it with the free shipping once and never again will I put myself through that nightmare.

Like noted before USPS for small things but always go with FedEx ground for anything else.

I've used the free shipping twice only because I'm a cheap ass and when I buy I should get something for what the shipping would cost. But after reading some of your posts I might go the other route and pay. While all of my stuff has been delivered fine the wait is a killer.

I have used free shipping from TD before on stuff I wasn't in a hurry on (lotion replenish and etc.). However, on stuff that I want, I would always pay for it.

I think it's great that shops offer free shipping for customers so they can save some money. But you shouldn't expect too much out of a free service. Maybe if TD incorporates a Amazon Prime kind of deal.........

I don't know about what first class you are talking about but USPS only allows first class up to 13 oz.

So I doubt they can try to ship a hip using first class....

I think first class mail from usps is around 12-13oz and after that it goes up to priority mail..

If I were to choose between Fedex and UPS; I'd go for UPS service any given day. Their main hub are so high tech in today market. Their margin for error are very slim to none unless shipping address are incorrect. Unsure about FEDEX smartpost, it stated 7-14 day of delivery.. If it was 3-5 day I don't mind at all. The fact it switch over to USPS without tracking number is a bit bizarre. I would like to know more about how Fedex smartpost work though..

About USPS service; I have used them in the past as "free delivery." offering from other sites. I think they are up par with UPS and or Fedex service minus the no real time status tracking  until it reaches your local hub.

Toydemon don't offer UPS in their shipping department is somewhat a disappointement. I trust UPS service the most out the three.

UPS and FedEx ship similarly and work quite well overall. There is also a possibility that Toy Demon specifically works with Fed Ex due to better pricing and distance to the Fed Ex facility. This is similar for other companies as well.

USPS is a shot in the dark, sometimes they are good, but at a lot of random parts in the system, many things can go wrong. This is generally at a local issue, but even parts of the distribution train can become suspect. They also have extremely few qualms about ripping open packaging or even sending broken empty boxes to the recipient. If you do not have the package insured, which sometimes costs more than going with UPS/FedEx, there is always a worry that you will lose the item entirely.

Considering this topic, I was very worried since I just bought a meiki plush doll and picked free shipping. Luckily, it seems they went with FedEx home delivery, so it should be safe.

If you're tight on budget, use it, but remember that the product might arrive at your doorsteps before the tracking status said so

Yesterday I was checking my tracking status at TD shop. A poll pops up regarding "free shipping" option due to many unsatisfied customer. I voted they should give free shipping at 100$ with improved shipping method of course. I doubt anybody want to go through Fedex smartpost service. Personally, I think it is the best available option out of the three. I don't want Fedex smartpost as their "free delivery" program at all.

What do you guys think?

A) I forgot lol
B) Improved shipping method at 100$
C) 60$ Fedex smartpost (No Changes)

I checked their poll, and first was to just get rid of free shipping, but lower the fees for all the other paid shipping methods.

I guess that works too since I always pay for FedEx shipping and don't trust USPS with my free shipping, I'd be saving money if they changed to that.

I also like option 2. I think free shipping probably still cost retailers bunch, and if they raise the threshold to 100, they will be able to ditch the crap like smartpost and maybe I would use free shipping again.

But in the end, I think ppl will vote to have it stay the same. People don't want to spend money at all when it comes to shipping.

As for the ppl complaining about free shipping..........I really don't get it. Do you go to a restaurant and ask for water, but when you get it your plain water you complain to the waiter and go, "why is this not sparkling water?!?!?"  TD's new site lists the estimated times for paid shipping methods and obviously Free Shipping being the cheapest is not gonna have any guarantees. And they tell you that upfront, what more do you need? If you think it's too slow, than fucking pay for it.

I have worked retail before when I was younger and I hate these self centered, entitled customers. The world DOES NOT revolve around you, if you don't like what they have to offer, then go somewhere else and stop bitching. I wonder if these ppl bitch about the Mini Meiki they buy and then go, why isn't my Mini Meiki like the Meiki Ozawa? Fucking morons.
