Hi folks,
I have the feeling that single layer becomes relatively rare compared to dual layers (see EXE and Dogma for example). Do you have also the feeling that dual layers are not only produced for increased feeling sensations but also to decrease the lifetime of your toy s.t. you have to replace them in a shorter time. I know that in the electronics business it is common practice to build in inferior components and I'm afraid it has started in our so much appreciated adult toy market too. On the other hand single layers have also a lifetime. The question here is do you have the feeling that the shortened lifetime of your toy through dual layers compensate the better feeling sensations?
Maybe a poll would be a great but i don't know how to do it.

I was thinking the exact same. Dual layers have plenty of merits, but I bet the fact that they are less durable is definitely exploited by the manufacturers. As a matter of fact, I think they actually require LESS material with dual layers, but up the price due to 'research' costs and at the same time they break faster, win-win? I personally am moving back to single layer types, 'First Sexual Experience' for example is an excellent toy.

That's why I'm really skeptical about buyin xyz. The reviews are super about feeling good/whatnot but I want a lasting one too. It's kinda a big investment for some of us.

Random side note, maybe the more senior members can list some good single layers/ duals (Im assuming dual layers mean thers one hole for the vag+ass)

The Julia+ is similar to the ZXY but more durable. Definitely worth considering.
Secondly, dual layer means there's a different material in the inside of the toy than on the outside. These material layers are fused into a 'dual layer' toy. It makes for much more of possibilities for the manufacturer regarding firmness of material on the outside for grip, and firmness of the material in the inside for more/less stimulation. Most new toys these days feature this dual layer system

Flammz posted while I was writing this, but I'll leave it anyway.

Actually the term "dual layer" refers to the interior of the meiki having an added layer of material bonded to the outer layer.  The inner layer is usually made from a slightly harder, more stimulating material.  You can see the two separate layers when seeing a meiki that has been cut in half.  The inner layer is usually a darker color, or at least more red. 

Some dual layer meikis are more durable than others, as my ZXY has lasted me almost a year so far and is still very enjoyable.  It has lost a lot of it's inner layer, but still functions well.  In contrast my YJY has lost it's inner layer at double the rate of my ZXY with even less use.  And my Sarah hasn't started to lose any of it's inner layer yet, although it's still pretty new at 2 months.

Some of the newer single layer meikis from NPG has IMO improved over the earlier versions.  I have the Eiro Chika and Hibiki Ootsuki and both are much more stimulating than the Maria Ozawa.  In fact, I would say that both are almost as stimulating as my ZXY, but much more durable so far.  And of course your mileage may vary from mine.

I should also add that while the Eiro Chika and Hibiki Ootsuki are great and have been quite durable for me, they do tend to develop another problem.  The entrance for both of these meiki are pretty small, so small that both developed small tears at the entrance early on.  But if you catch it early this can be fixed by melting/blending in the tear with a soldering iron.  I have not had any more issues with either of these since it was fixed.

And Flammz is correct about the Julia+, very durable so far.  But TBH, I don't care for it as much as I hoped.  My favorites continue to be the ZXY and the Hibiki.

Interesting to hear. I had the Eiro Chika and after buying other toys liked it less and less, I might've liked the Hibiki more. Too bad you aren't as crazy about Julia as most of us are.

I guess I should elaborate a little bit.  It's not that I don't like the Julia+, it's that I find it a little too stimulating.  And I don't mean that I can't last a long time using it, I mean that it's a little uncomfortable to use.  I guess my sensitivity level has increased to the point where only very soft toys will feel good to me now, but I haven't given up on the Sarah yet.

Also interesting would be Tomax's "Very Soft" line, Casquetero reviewed one on his blog. Finally, there's this japanese onahole which you can find by googling for 'ectoplasm girl onahole' which is supposed to be the softest, bar none. "Softer than ectoplasma" lol. I'd love to try it some day.

I bought the Julia and Sarah at the same time, and I tried both on the same day.  The stimulation level felt similar to me, but TBH I have only tried either a couple of times each.  I haven't "retired" either so I haven't given up yet.

I actually have the Hoshino and I do like the softness, but the interior isn't one of my favs.  It is better in the MPD though.

It's funny you should mention the Tomax very soft line as I just ordered a Venus clone along with a white Busty Aichan, which is supposed to be even softer than the original.  Looking forward to trying both.

I haven't heard of the "ectoplasm girl onahole", but you have made me curious about it.

I have only one dual layer toy, the Meiki Sarah and the inner layer is starting to come loose at the top before the g spot and quit frankly I think this will be my last dual layer toy as I don't like knowing I pay a premium for something that has mediocre durability and I don't feel the Sarah feels better than the Maria. The big plus I see with dual layer for me is the more realistic look they have. I have a very sensitive penis head so extra tightness and increased stimulation from the material/design isn't really a positive to me if my goal is to use a toy like a meiki sleeve with the zero diameter canal and bumps for more than a few minutes. The feeling I get is basically a slightly lesser version as that after orgasm with the super sensitivity.

I also think I may be done with the high end NRG Meiki sleeves as I doubt any future single layer will be worth it for me given the Maria is so sweet. I'd rather get different style sleeves for the variety and the NRG canals really don't have a super difference in layout...at least not enough for me to justify dropping $80+ each time.

I feel that while NPG is one of the big granddaddies of onaholes, these days they aren't innovating as much as the newer, fresh competition. Which is a good thing I suppose, if others can get out genuinely good products at lower prices than NPG Meiki's premium $80+, I won't complain
