mnemonic's Meikei ZYX Review


First, some background info: I'm new to the Japanese / Korean etc. onahole milieu, but I have used a few US-made CyberSkin & UR3 items in the past so I'm familiar with this sort of 'product.' (Fwiw, the CyberSkin stuff was OK, but let's face it - they're a poor substitute for the real thing, and the experience is not much like actual sex.) I was considering just buying a Fleshlight for the convenience and ease of cleaning. Then I found this place... 


First Impressions and unboxing: My Meikei ZYX arrived in a standard USPS shipping box with a discreet label and no indication of its contents to cause embarrassment. (A Good Thing!) Opening the outer packing revealed the ornately decorated box you've all seen in the pics; it's quite a busy yet attractive cardboard enclosure with a clever precut curved & perforated slot around the upper 1/3 for removing the top. First note: it's heavy! I knew the Meikei's were solid, but you know you've bought something special when you pick it up and it weighs more than you expected.

Opening this box exposes the inner box, a transparent, folded plastic affair similar to what you'd see delicate flowers or something encased in, with a 'Chinese' red inner cardboard support / retainer for the (plastic-wrapped) toy inside. This is how you pack stuff, people! It's not as elaborate as the bamboo boxes for other Meikei's, but it's very nice and worth keeping around.


Enough about the damn box - let's talk about the prize inside!

Removing my ZYX from the inner package and unsealing the plastic, my first impression was of the color: it's a nice pale pink and slightly translucent, which causes it to 'glow' just a bit in the right lighting. Very nice! Somewhat sadly, mine has a bit of discoloration from the inner layer on the very lower left of the labia - it's not bad though, kind of like a little 'wine stain' birthmark.

The Material: Wow, this stuff is both soft and s t r e t c h y! It feels quite pleasant to squeeze and touch, and the outer texture is nicely skin-like without any powder or corn starch. Seriously, it's just fun to hold and manipulate this toy. I didn't want to put it down! The inner layer is a lovely darker pink, and very detailed. I'll be honest, once I 'lubed' it with some saliva I couldn't keep my fingers out of it - it's very like the real thing that way... I can see now why some posters here mention 'going down' on theirs occasionally! While washing it for the first time, I couldn't keep from fondling it.

Mold Quality: The over-all mold quality is very good, though there is some loss of detail in the labial & clitoral area. Still, a big improvement over most US-made stuff. And the inner detail more than makes up for any deficiencies in the exterior! One cool thing I didn't note from TD's pics: the 'body' of the toy is shaped like a tiny female body, complete with a navel and even little dimples above the butt-cheeks. So cute! Mine had some obvious (though slight) molding defects on the outer labia and around the opening - I assume this is due to the molding process, which must be tricky to say the least. I remedied this with the very careful application of my trusty grooming scissors, removing stray 'lumps' and bits where the inner and outer material had stuck together during or after molding. (This wasn't strictly necessary, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist.  )

Overall: This is the most I've spent (so far) on a sex toy, and I was a bit apprehensive about the cost. I can say now that my worries were unfounded; this toy oozes quality, and with the extravagant packaging it looks like something you'd spend eighty-odd bucks on!


All right already, what about 'the experience'?!

The Experience: Ah, the heart of the review! Well, first of all, if your only experience with toys of this type is the stuff from Fleshlight, Doc Johnson etc., you're in for a big surprise. This thing is hands-down the most realistic experience I've ever had with a toy! I do have a fair amount of experience with the real thing, and all of the other guys posting Meikei reviews here are absolutely correct: this thing feels and works pretty much like the real deal.

See, real vaginas aren't anything like your hand (or your Fleshlight). They're not 'tight' in the sense most guys mean it, they're quite pliable and intricate things (that's why it's so much fun to stick your fingers in one and "go exploring" as I used to call it. ) Between the detail of the mold and the characteristics of the material, the Meikei ZYX feels very good and realistic in use - it surrounds you and envelopes you no matter which direction you approach it from. An example: the third or fourth time that I used it, midway through I noticed that I was fucking it 'sideways' (that is, not going straight in, but entering at an angle so as to press up against one side of the canal, like the G-spot area). This is a fun 'bedroom trick' that I've used on girlfriends in the past, and I was unconsciously doing it to this toy! 

That right there should tell you why you'd want one of these.

The material is very stretchy and resilient, and with all the inner detail you can achieve different sensations just by repositioning yourself or trying it 'buns up' or 'buns down' etc. It really does 'grip' you at first, until the material warms and stretches a bit as you work your way into it. I can see myself getting plenty of enjoyment from this little toy. A Size Note: I am very average-sized (), and therefore I don't expect to wear this toy out too quickly. I did get one small tear on the right side of the inner opening after the second use, but have had no further trouble since. Also, I can't recommend enough using the 'rolled-up sleeping bag' or a similar method to get the toy out of your hand(s); it really shines when you can let go and just 'have at it.'

Combine this toy with a Love Venus doll and you'd never have to leave the bedroom!

Lube and Cleaning: First, the included lube. Holy ****, this stuff is awesome! Important note for those who think it's not enough: this is a concentrated product. You should only use a small amount and add water (or better yet, saliva) to thin it down to at least a 50/50 mix, or even 1/3 lube to 2/3 liquid (my preference). I've had this thing for over a week and still have almost 2/3 of the bottle left. Need to buy more, though!

I've seen lots of worrying about cleaning these toys; let me say here that it really isn't an issue. The stretchyness of the Meikei material (seriously, I can't stop talking about that) makes it dead-easy to get your fingers in there when you're washing it with warm soapy water (my recommendation) in the bathroom sink. You really can open it right up with a couple of fingers (just like the pics  ) and get to all the (lovely) nooks and crannies! Once I've soaped it up and thoroughly cleaned it, it's simple to just hold it open under the faucet and run warm water into it to rinse. Real simple and easy!

Drying off is the one place where things do get tricky. I've found it best (so far) to use wadded paper towel 'balls' pressed down into the nether crevices (as others here have mentioned), but getting them back out can be a bit of work. Again, the stretchyness helps a lot here. I've actually contemplated employing my hair-dryer, but I think it'd take too long. I'm also considering just leaving the inside coated with some anti-bacterial soap in-between uses, though I'm not sure how the material would respond to that...


Conclusion:

As you may have guessed, I am very, very happy with my new toy. It really is worth the cash, and nobody in the US makes anything comparable as far as I know. I'm already contemplating adding another one (or two) to my collection, and I see the Meikei 006s have just arrived!
