How do I clean the 17 Evo properly?
« on: March 25, 2010, 09:07:16 PM »
Just received my 17 Evo and I was wondering what's the best way to clean it after use.

Also, thanks Toydemon for the insanely fast delivery.  You guys are awesome.

I think from the past discussions on this forum... I would recommend do not flip the toy inside out when washing..it can cause the inner layer to split from the outside layer.. with most of the toys I have.. I flip inside out (and GENTLY so you don't accidentally rip it)only the super soft ones and if they are made of one piece (Meiki / younger sister/elder sister etc)...the double layer ones..i just stretch it open with my fingers and rinse it a few times and then leave it upside down to air dry.. hope this helps 8)

Any toy with a dual layer system cannot be flipped inside out so you'll have to make due with rinsing and scrubbing soap with your fingers. Drying will have to be air-dry

As James Bond would say, "Shaken, not stirred." would apply to cleaning it out, and although the idea of using a douchbag seems smart, I'm always managing to think up something different. I literally put a few squirts of easy non toxic but nice smelling, hand soap from a pump bottle into the opening of the Seven Teen and then add it halfways with warm water, cover the opening with my middle finger, to make sure it doesn't gush out, and shake it vigorously. And that method has worked for me the whole time I've been cleaning it.

So if you ever hear "Shaken, not stirred", you'll likely laugh and noone will know why. xD

Yeah, I think trying to flip it inside out is what ultimately caused my 17 Evo to come apart. NOT recommended.

the ultimate killer is not flipping it inside-out, but what the adhesive is exposed that kills the toy.
i happen to have flipped mine inside-out under the running tap and the water literally weakened the adhesive. i think that flipping it out once or twice will not destroy the toy's integrity, seeing how the two layers are stuck air-tight to each other.
