On the topic of spam, pan fried sliced spam is actually quite good.

When I was younger we used to eat spam musubi which is a slice of pan fried spam with a block of rice in the same rectangular shape all tied together with a thin slice of dry seaweed...

My grandparents love fried spam, they have it at least once a week.

the last time i tried to make my own spam.. pan fried..it was mighty salty (out of the can).. not how i remembered it when I was young... anyone know any special way to cook spam without it being so salty?

lol maybe you should wash each slice with water before frying it to reduce the salt. I remember spam was good, even though it's probably slaughter house floor scrapings in a can... Hehe.

Did the spam come salty or did you have to moderate the amounts of salt on the spam?

They are salty out of the can, not how I remembered them.
But I think it's the same deal with hotdogs, which are salty if you BBQ them out of the packaging, but alot less salty if you boil them in a pot.
