Please excuse me for being an ass, but Blu-rays aren't DVDs... much in the same way that DVDs aren't CDs. :-)

Up until the last year or so, I was waiting for a standard (HD-DVD or Blu-Ray), and now that the standard's established, I've been biding my time as prices come down and more players saturate the market.

Now as more and more content is starting to come out for Blu-Ray (specifically the series Doctor Who, which is the biggie for me, but also some movies like District 9 and Astro Boy), I'm about ready to take the Blu-Ray plunge in the next 6 months, probably a bit sooner.

I may wait for the 3D-capable Blue-Ray players due out in a couple months though, even if my current TV isn't capable yet (hopefully upgrading that down the line too).  3D may or may not be the next big thing, but it makes sense to me to wait and make sure I meet the standard in a player since I'd like to be futureproof as possible.  And I think if 3D does take off, 3D porn will be one of the next big things.  ^.^

hmmm 3D porn ....sounds great and all..after watching Avatar 3D, i can definitely see how 3D effects take you into the movie and it feels like your standing right there in the same environment with the movie characters. then again..im thinking if im watching 3D porn..it's like sitting in the same room with the porn stars...and not able to do anything but watch.

3D TV is great, saw a demo at a convention in Japan a year ago. 3D porn is a great idea, don't think anyone in the industry are thinking about it though.

There's at least one (gay) site that already does 3D with the older multicolored glasses (do a search for Dominic Ford if interested).  But yeah, I can't think of much out there at present besides that, and no announcements I know of for porn with the new 3D technology, but I'm sure it'll come when it's ready lol.

And yeah...I was all planning to do some equipment upgrades soon but now thanks to the CES coverage I'm definitely waiting a bit to see how this initial 3D launch pans out.  I'm sure once it becomes popular porn companies will jump onboard, but I'd guess that's at least a few years down the line.

actually the porn industry could survive well without investing into too much technologies. Some innovations we see on the internet is the result of porn industry investment. though HD is just a gimmick to them let alone BD.
