Is hand lotion safe to use? I am a cheap guy so I would rather pay 3$ for a large bottle of hand lotion rather than 10$ on a small bottle of personal lubricant, especially when I already have some lying around the house. I know the effect wouldn't be like personal lubricants, but it should be better than nothing.

What I am concerned about is whether it will damage the silicone material or not.
I have kroger aloe vera gel that has aloe barbadensis leaf juice, water, SD alcohol 40, glycerin, carbomer, triethanolamine, methylparaben, imidazolidinyl urea.

It seems water based with no signs of silicone ingredients, but I just want to be safe.

The lubes offered here last quite well after a number of use. I am currently using Climax H2O which holds 6 oz. To this date (after... 2 months?), I am at half bottle and I used it quite often. To extend the number of use, you can add water and mix it up for a more fluid mixture which was what I did (when you reach 75% of the bottle just add water and mix).

I ordered two bottles and I haven't popped my second bottle yet so it shows.
If you only have one toy, two bottle tends to be more than enough and is definitely a better investment than lotion.

gay guys use dish washing soap as a lubricant, why not try that out, or even conditioner

Conditioner? What about shampoo? And how can you tell if lotion is water based ?

Shampoo is pants-on-head retarded. That stuff will get inside your urethra and burn - might as well use lye at that point.
