Tenga Questions
« on: September 22, 2009, 09:50:37 PM »
The Tenga products have really been peaking my interest lately, but I have a few questions about them.

The Tenga cups look really great, and they look like some great discreet toys to take on my vacation soon. They look so appealing but I hate the fact that they're disposable, unless you use a condom and I'd rather save condoms for me and the lady. I saw freshdiggs thread about cleaning the Tenga cups, and it's something I plan on doing when I buy some. :D My questions is for those that clean and reuse the Tenga cup, about how many time do you use them before you toss em out? Also do they lose any suction or sensation from the textures when you clean them?

I also really wanna get a Flip Hole as well, I think I might go with the white edition first until I hear more reviews on the black. The only thing that concerns me about the Flip Hole is the that Tenga recommends you get a new one after using it fifty times. It's not a deciding factor, but I've been able to keep some of my other toys for years with proper use and care. Has anyone used the Flip Hole over fifty times and does it still hold or does it start to weaken over time?

Thanks in advance! :)

I don’t think Tenga « recommends » to throw away the Flip Hole after 50 uses. I think they guarantee the Flip Hole for fifty uses ! I’ve seen in some forum (I cannot remember where), some people say that they had been using their Flip Hole for about a year. Some mentioned between 100 and 150 uses. Apparently, the holding/sliding cap is the most break-prone part of the Tenga for what I have read. Since it holds the 2 halves together when you use the Tenga and these are pushed outwards as you penetrate the Flip Hole, the cap is apparently very necessary. (Although I have been wondering whether the elastic bands holding the broccoli bunches one buys at the grocery store could replace the sliding cap ?) I can only tell you what I have read because, myself, I’ve only had my Flip Hole for 2 weeks.

As for cleaning the disposable Tenga… I’d say it can be done using the method described here. I have done it. The material, however, is not very durable and I think my rolling head will last about 5 times. The better way, I believe, is to fuck your onacup « porn style »… I mean : you fuck them good, but you cum outside ! If you do this, you won’t really need to clean the Tenga for the first few times.

I remember cleaning my tenga cups by taking it apart and rinsing it...after putting it back together.. the suction still works fine. But definitely make sure you dont use any silicon based condoms on these toys..it'll destroy the silicon... Water base condoms only..if your planning on using condoms w/ it that is.

I can't comment too much as I've had mine only a couple weeks also, but it seems to be holding up great.  Of course I can't guarantee it, but I would guess that it'll last well past the 50 uses with care.  I've probably used the inside at least 10 times now (maybe a little less or more as I haven't counted per se) and it feels just as good as when I got it (well better actually because my dick is becoming more sensitive to softer stimulation I think since i'm not masturbating by hand as much).

If I were to pick out a possible point of failure, it'd be the hinge on the thing as I'd imagine if you're too rough with it or apply too much pressure it could break (it's a seam-like hinge).  But I always handle/hang it with care and seems to be sturdy enough so far.  I'm sure the liner eventually wears out too, but that's going to happen with anything I'm sure.  And whatever this is made of seems to me to be better quality than CyberSkin - the fact that you don't have to powder it or anything like you do with some others is quite telling.

I've also found that with the tenga warmer ..you can warm up the fliphole too and it feels amazing when you start your session with a pre-warmed toy instead of going cold turkey.

The Tenga warmer looks cool, but I rarely warm up my toys. My body heat seems to warm em up pretty well.

Hehe - I have the warmer and I quite like it.  (You're supposed to use the single-use TENGAS 5 minutes on it, but I hear with Flip Hole you can leave it longer...up to 20...since it's bigger).

I find I use it sometimes and skip it others depending on my mood and how quickly I want to "get to it".

It is nice to slip into a pre-warmed toy and it does a nice job.  Avoids the small amount of "ooOH that's cold" shock and actually introduces a slight "mmM...that's nice" feeling instead.

But I have to agree with muddbutt in that if I don't use it, within a minute or too it's warmed up pretty well anyways, so it isn't really essential - just nice occasionally.

...And the pink glowing button when it's on is pretty.  ^.^
