It might be an old idea or someone else has tried it, but i stumbled on it on one cold night...

If you need a way to wirelessly warm your hole, this i feel is the easiet.  Just plug your Rend USB warmer into a Anker external battery pack for phone (i am using this one: http://www.amazon.com/Compact-10000mAh-Portable-External-Technology/dp/B009USAJCC/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1419364674&sr=8-7&keywords=anker+charger ) and your USB warmer will get hot pretty fast just like as if it is plugged into the wall charging outlet.  I tied up the cable so i don't have wires all over the place.

 Besides you can also use the battery pack for your phone!

What you might also wish to mention is the "smart iq" functions sometimes found in those types of batteries.

I happen to have the big bro of you model (15000) and its "power iq" function seems to recognize the warmer as able to take higher juice than it really should IMO.  In testing, mine got too hot to the touch and I would imagine too warm to insert let alone leave IN a meiki (without damage)

Its a pain but simple usb 2 on laptops/desktops work best for me. That or a 1amp cell charger.

If you prefer other power solutions, by all means go for it but TEST TEST TEST first.  Rends doesn't really seem to have any sort of smart shutoff or anything. It just tops out at as hot as the current you give it allows.
