I know many ppl on here don't own a Wii U, but I can't help but want to come here and post about Mario Kart 8.

Growing up with Nintendo, Mario Kart is one of the games that I always buy for each console. I gotta say Mario Kart 8 might be the best Mario Kart!!!

I was able to go online and play with couple of friends within a simple of button presses and 12 players online is insanely fun. I must have put in over 12 hours this past weekend, just playing online non-stop. There's just so much fun and thrill to be had screaming at your friends/online opponents when they red/blue shell you right before the finish line and you go from 1st to 9th..........lol, but when the reverse happens, it feels awesome!!!

Wondering if anyone has it on TD, maybe we can hold a TD tournament!

I got just got it the other day, holy cow has the graphics improve over the years..this one is off the hook..though it's pretty hard to get 1st place in a race with other players... Love it nonetheless

Weirdest thing happened to me in Mario Kart the other day, I was racing with players world wide and was at 12th place (last place)    but somehow I got hit by a boomerang from behind....now WTF just happened....is there a 13th player out of 12?

man, the game is tough online with 11 other players! I thought I was pretty good at Mario Kart but racing online with others, I usually finish in the middle. Once in a while I will finish top 3. So hard, but the game is so fun!

How is the Wii U? I have never played Mario Kart except at one of those store displays. It sure looks cool though. I'd buy it but I'm afraid of it just being another Wii where there's only like 5 games worth playing so it sits on the shelf collecting dust.

I can say ......it's worth it because it's really fun playing with friends and now people all over the world at almost no lag what so ever.  I remember back in the days when I played Mario Kart on DS against people in Japan... I see them lag and all of a sudden they're like half a lap ahead of me... and like Daaabear ...I thought i was a mario kart pro! 

As for getting consoles and if they're wroth buying with only a few games that you'd want to play.... my answer to that is..if you get enough hours of enjoyment out of it..even 1 game is worth it... Here's my past experience..with buying console in the below order

Bought  &  Games Played

Nintendo DS   2 Games (Mario Kart DS, Zoo Keeper)
Wii                 1 Game (Monster Hunter Tri)
PS3                2 Games (Lost Planet 2, Red Dead Redemption) ....and watched some blueray movies
Nintendo 3DS  1 Game (Mario Golf)
Wii U              2 Games (Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate, Mario Kart

As you can see...I bought 5 consoles to play.....8 games.   but it's not always about the cost of these things..it truly is about the enjoyment you get out of it. I have a group of friends that we play alot of co-op games together, and that's where all the fun is, enjoying the game together and chat on skype etc..having a ball laughing at the stupid things each other does... at least to me, it makes buying all these games worth every penny~ I really don't buy any single player games, it's just plain boring.

Woa, only 2 PS3 games. You're missing out on a lot of good ones. Problem is I never have the time to play anymore ya know. By the time I get to a "new" game it's like 1 year old and everyone else is already on the sequel to it.  I didn't really get a chance to play MHT on Wii and now the servers are all offline
