The New TD.com! The good and the bad.
« on: July 27, 2013, 10:30:28 PM »
Since no one else has posted this one, figured id do it. Let me just say, the new site is awesome! It will take some getting used to naturally, but i really like it. It reminds me of the TD blog i should mention.

1: Very modern and everything is right there as soon as you get to the site.

2:The new product pages are also fantastic! way more features and FINALLY high res photos that you can properly zoom into!!

3: The photos are very well done and they really make the products shine.

4: Having Youtube vids on the pages for the products that have them is an awesome idea.

5: The "Add a lotion or bag: Save $$ from the original price" option was a nice touch for sure!

6: The points system revision is welcomed (and needed)

Now, on to the bad.

1: On the main page with the wall scroll bars, they accelerate way too slow. I'm sure it's an easy fix though.

2: On some product pages with Youtube vids, the vids will totally obstruct the product photos making it imposable to see what your looking at and you cannot close it up. It will stick in the corner of the screen and block the view.

3: The site seems way slower than the previous. Probably just one of the issues you will have with a new site i would guess.

4: Wile the product photos look great, there is one big issue; no more internal shots whatsoever and only 3 photos on every single item. We are now mostly blind to see what the inside of any of the toys look like. Not even so much as a shot of the inside from the product boxes were they tend to give you an idea (though, there are a few and ONLY a few). The is fixes an old issue and makes a new one. It kinds defeats the purpose of being able to zoom in to the photos if you can't see the inside.
Update on #4 nevermind, it's just a stupid bug. You are forced to use aarow keys on your keyboard! OTHER PHOTOS ARE ACTUALLY THERE! THE AAROW BUTTONS ARE BROKEN AND DO NOT WORK. Stupid arrow buttons!! You made me look bad!!

Overall, the site looks great. Nice new features much more functional. Just needs the bugs cleaned up!

I am not sure what you are talking about in regards to only three pictures......you can click the arrow to scroll for more. They have interior shots and some products have 7 pictures like 17 Bordeaux.

I do think they can optimize the site speed a little though but that can be fixed since they couldn't have tested with live traffic when developing.

I agree with your positive pts, I think this is an awesome upgrade, esp love the demon deal! Gj TD!

I was thinking about the same thing, why is there only 3 pictures that doesn't show the interior of the toy like the last version of the site... Then I saw the scroll arrow on the side if the pictures lol

How does the comparison function work?
« Reply #4 on: July 29, 2013, 01:21:57 AM »
Hi all, first post.  I'd been lurking and learning for perhaps a week (much appreciation to the regulars, whose insights were incredibly helpful), and was lucky to catch the sale.  New site looks really good, especially the systematic series of photos for each toy.  They've got this down to a science!  8)

I have a question about the "add to comparison list" feature (the second small button to the right of the add-to-cart button).  Probably I'm missing the obvious, but how does that work -- where do I click to see the comparison list itself?

P.S.  Second the comment about the hard-soft slider -- even if that info is available in the reviews, it seems like it would be nice to have it handy.

Probably browser- related. Are you using Chrome or Firefox?  ..or Internet Explorer or Opera or something like that  ;D

Edit: something I noticed, when you list masturbators for example by "newest", and then click on one of the options on the left, like "material: TPE" or "anal", it gives you an error.

Also, I liked how with the previous site there was a link that instantly displayed newest items.
Top recommendations 1: Julia + (intense, realistic sensations at a not-so-intense price) 2: First Sexual Experience (personal favorite)
3: Wet Meiki SHIN (revolutionary soft but gripping material). Honorable Mention: Tomax 2D Wavy Ripple (great for transition hand-> toy)

haha ya, i am on FF and the arrows work fine. I have noticed that if you're on a iOS device, you don't click on the arrows, you can just scroll them with your finger.

Thanks for all the feedback, we actually deactivated some features to clean up some bugs that popped up at the end. Some of the one discovered are being worked on and fixes will be applied soon. Some design issues will be worked on and updates to those will come a little later.

 Finally a wishlist!

New design is great. I only had some problems trying to checkout yesterday but it worked today.

I like the new site.

Is it possible to add the manufacturer to the filter on the left-side pane?   Toys these days (particularly here) are very brand-centered, it's nice to be able to narrow done by maker (Tenga, Meiki, Toyheart, etc.).
