HELP! Did ToyDemon send me a USED Meiki?
« on: July 09, 2013, 09:59:23 AM »
Okay, this is absolutely disgusting. I'm going to give ToyDemon the benefit of the doubt and assume that their supplier is to blame, but I am pretty sure the Nao Yoshizaki Meiki I just received was opened and possibly even used. I want to know ASAP what ToyDemon can do about this. Can I return it for another one?

Check the images below. When I opened up the package, the plastic bag was already half open. There was a single piece of tape barely holding the bag closed, and another piece of tape at another random place on the bag. There was also... if you can believe it... someone's EYELASH on part of the Meiki. I also later realized that the talcum powder (?) inside looked like it had been exposed to water and dried back up, looking clumpy. Disgusting...

See the random piece of tape and clumpy crap all over the bag.

Look at the grime at the top of the case. It's as if someone left the Meiki half-wet and put it back in the box. Disgusting!

So, ToyDemon, am I screwed out of $120? I want to know what my options are; I want this out of my house ASAP.

Most of the Meiki's are like that when I received them.. they're always sealed with a tape over a open ended plastic bag. my guess is most likely the bouncing around during transit would cause the tape to pop off. I remember some meiki i've gotten had really greasy tape that barely sticks from the oil seep off the actual toy (I"m going to assume that's why you have that grease mark on the box). The powder on the bag is always there when i receive bigger toys.. I definitely had them when i got the extreme hip.

With that said.. I don't think TD would would send out a used toy at least i've never gotten one or suspected one before. The eyelash could be disgusting to some..at least for me.. as long as it's not a pube hair :-\..it doesnt bother me since I wash my toy before use anyways and I'm pretty sure these toys arnt machine packed so there's always going to be a speck of dust here and there.. :P  Try contact TD customer service to see if they can help..

ToyDemon got back to me and they mentioned the retail package is supposed to have a sticker or seal. None on mine. I received a Hibiki alongside the Nao, which did have a sticker that sealed the package, so something is definitely up with the Nao I received.

I'm hoping to get an exchange, but it sounds like ToyDemon is interested in getting a photo of the eyelash first... not really in the mood to look for it again or dig out my macro lens...

That's how most of the meiki's I've seen come. They're oily sometimes and it makes the powder mushy. Plus with it being summer and that thing getting hot in it's little box during transport even more so.
