Meiki Sarah durability is horrible
« on: May 28, 2013, 07:09:56 AM »
Got this sleeve in November and after a few uses the bottom of the outer lips started to separate and I attempted to fix it with soldering but it didn't hold. A use after that there started to be a tear at the upper entrance of the inner lips. Tried to solder that and it evidently didn't work.

On Saturday I used this sleeve and when I was done I noticed that the outer lip bottom tear was worse, there was now a tear on the upper part of the outer lips and the tear at the top inside the sleeve extended all the way to the first nub inside the sleeve (tear was now in the outer layer) and the dual layer was starting to separate there. I started to clean and noticed inside the sleeve there were many spots where the dual layer had holes and had separated from the outer material. Note that I use plenty of lube with my toys and I do not thrust at some porn star speed as I go slow. There is no reason for these issues others than poor build quality or a flaw of the dual layer design.

Not wanting to just throw the toy out right away, I decided to pull out the second layer and see how the sleeve was to use then. I noticed that the dual layer is just a thin layer that follows a general mold of the outer layer so I figured there would still be some form of canal design. This was very easy to do since i could just pull with not much force and the layer peeled off and to me showed how weak the bonding is of these two layers. What I had after this was a canal that still had the mounds like the "g spot" yet was clearly much increased in diameter than before and not a zero diameter guy yet it still seemed like it'd be functional. Gone of course were the micro texture bumps/rugae.

Yesterday I attempted to solder the entrance rips and that inside rip at the top. I soldered the entrance so much that only a tiny hole was left to see how that would be for entry. This of course didn't hold the first time I put my dick in it and it just ripped it all up to where it as before. The inside tear started again and seems to be back to how it was before. I may try to solder this again although I am thinking soldering doesn't really do much to fix problems on a long term basis.

I used this sleeve last night and I must say I am pretty pleased. It was of course much looser than before yet it still felt nice and it is better than chucking the toy away after about 6 uses. The biggest negative I found was lube retention is mediocre since there aren't a bunch of nubs and ridges to hold it. I had to often wet my dick with water and sprinkle a bit in the sleeve.

The looseness is more than the Maria of course and more than I'd guess any other sleeve like this. It took me a while to unload and I am not some stamina king so anyone who takes a long time with a regular sleeve would probably not be able to unload with this. Anyone who finds any Meiki sleeve too tight/stimulating or just wants a less stimulating toy for a long session would probably like this.

You really get a big slurping sound at times because of the extra space in the canal now and it sounds like a sloppy bj when that happens. I usually don't shoot my load in these sleeves (at least on purpose) yet with this I did and it felt nice yet was pretty messy. In times before where I shoot in a toy I have noticed that when I pull out I don't really have any semen at the base of my dick (I don't thrust when shooting in toys...too sensitive) yet with this when I pulled out I had a lot at the base. Was like I was in one of those Japanese creampie gangbang films.

I am debating trying to tweak the interior to add some texture.

Overall I am happy I decided to try this out as I now have a sleeve that is still useful. It may not be my go-to sleeve yet it is nice if I want a long drawn out session without having to do many stop and starts. I also threw it into my meiki plush doll near the end last night and it was nice as usually with a sleeve in there I am ready to blow my load quickly. I am wondering if maybe I should cut off the ass cheeks because they get in the way when trying to sue this sleeve with the doll.

I'd say anyone who has a dual layer toy and the inner layer starts to rip and separate may want to try this instead of just throwing out the toy right away. You may not like the result but maybe you will and you get to keep the toy. One thing I know is this was my first and probably last dual layer sleeve, at least when it comes to sleeves that are $75+.

Thanks for the feedback johnhiggin and sorry about your meiki.  I have all three of the NPG dual layered meiki and my Sarah has been holding up pretty well so far.  No sign of the inner layer coming off and no tears yet.

The one I have had problems with is my YJY.  Since the first or second use the inner layer has been shedding.  And I lose more of the inner layer with every use now.  Because of that I haven't been using it at all, but I think I will try your idea and see how it goes.

My ZXY has been losing bits and pieces but I've had it for over a year and I still use it, so I guess that's pretty good.  It still has maybe half of the inner layer left.

I guess the quality control on these isn't quite there.  It's more of a crap shoot then anything else.  I think that's why the company went back to single layered designs.

After reading this post I went ahead and enjoyed my Meiki Sarah, and I noticed some of the inner layer peeling off at the entrance so I fixed it with my soldering iron set on low. However, when I looked deep inside I also observed that the red layer was delaminating everywhere so I guess my toy is on borrowed time.

My Meiki Sarah got a bit loose after some inner shedding as well. This one will be my first and last dual layer toy since I'm more and more concerned about the cleanliness since I cannot thoroughly wash it when the second layer is only loosly connected with the main layer. Well perhaps I just got bad luck with my decision of my first dual layer toy because Sarah is one of the more poorly made dual layers (so I've read in the forum) which in my case is additionally off centered  :'(
