Specs sound promising. If pricing rumours around the "Steam Box" is true then PS4 and "Durango" will definitely want to undercut their new competitor by a good 30%.

Guys, the lack of backward compatibility with PS3 games is inevitable. Before bashing Sony for that, remember how and why it has come that way. The architecture is completely different. You are looking at the cell processors (that next to no one uses for their application) while PS4 uses the conventional CPU. That is why, no matter how much we hope, we can never expect PS2 games to be B-C with PS3 because the architecture is completely different again.

Everyone was going ballistic about the lack of hardware, pricing or storage specs, but honestly, it is predictable. They need to soothe some aching hearts and shut some potty-mouths, so they made this event. If they announce pricing or storage before the "Durango" shows up then Microsoft may have an advantage, thus affecting sales before the console even comes out.

No visuals? No problem! Everyone is waiting for the "Durango" at April so we'll start seeing "leaks" around that time anyway.

Don't get why people need to shit bricks over this conference. I must admit though, that was way too long for a simple "PS4, coming soon - Holidays 2013"

I mean we know it's inevitable, but it just sux. I don't like to keep having to keep all my consoles connected, though as much as I complain.......I never really play old games. I have not played my PS2 or GC games since I got the PS3 and Wii.

One thing though that I have been reading which will suck is............games might go to the $70 range! WTF........and one thing I hate the most is that, digital versions aren't any cheaper! I'd buy the shit out of games if digital versions are cheaper, but when they charge full price and you can't even resell them, that's fucked up.

As sad as it is I'm usually so busy I rarely get to play any of the games I buy. I have a mountain of PS3 games still in the plastic I haven't gotten too. I'm still trying to catch up on PS2 games I never got to finish. I'm 6 years behind in gaming haha. By the time I get to "New" games they're already 60% off. 40bucks used to be crazy, 50 bucks used to be crazy, 60 bucks is crazy but $70 bucks!!!!!  That's Bonkers!

Well, I understand now why the PS4 won't have backwards compatibility. They would have to essentially cram in the PS3's hardware alongside the PS4 hardware, and this would increase costs enormously. One reason the PS3 cost so much at launch is because it had PS2 hardware inside it.

Yah I read about that just last night. I personally don't have a problem with it because I am always connected to the internet and I play online co-op with friends mostly. But I can totally understand the problem since I also play games like Zelda and Mario, if my internet is down and I can't play those single player games? I am going to be fucking pissed.

I still personally believe that piracy isn't the problem. It's the price! I use gamefly because I don't want to freaking pay $60 for a game that I finish in like 10 hours! Make those games $20 and downloadable and you got yourselves a sale. I still can't understand all these digital downloads costing $60. Until the price gets lower, I will still keep using service like gamefly and developers will lose out.

 When has people copying games ever been an epidemic for consoles? Is there a mass market of Bootleg games? Sounds kinda silly. This is why I never brought an X-Block.
