SHORT VERSION:

Darn I purchased before the sale! Oh well, I enjoy my new purchases!

LONG AND POETIC VERSION:

I have been reading a book called The Long Walk about a Polish prisoner accused of espionage against Russia. He eventually escapes from his Siberian prison and makes it all the way to the

Gobi Desert in Mongolia.

In the Gobi, his already starving and dehydrated group encounters an oasis. The group is divided by a life and death decision:

1) Wait for a few days to see if a trade caravan passes through to beg food from them. The oasis has water but no food, so if they stay and no trade caravan arrives they will surely die of starvation.
2) Continue onward, forging through the desert, hoping to find food and water elsewhere. Risk death by dehydration or starvation for the hope of escaping the endless dunes.

Part of me wanted to wait in the desert to see if a trade caravan (Toydemon Sale) would pass through, salvation on a camel's hump. The other, more impetuous part, urged me to press forward and abandon the oasis (purchase without sale).

In the end, I decided that I knew not when the next trade caravan was passing through. Clearly, more seasoned travelers of this region (Hardgay, Sextoyjunkie, Captainawesome) knew the trade routes and that soon the traders would come laden with dates and other fruits of the desert. But I, a newcomer to this land, knew not if another caravan would pass through before I ran out of supplies and expired.

I am now the proud owner of a new Miyu Hoshino and Meiki Plush Doll. I pressed on into that great unknown, and in the end I do not regret my decision. Though the trade caravan eventually came (10% off sale), it may have just easily not have come and long would I have suffered, perhaps perished, beneath the merciless Gobi sun.

lolol, i don't know how you come up with these stories, but they're hilarious.

I know it sux missing a sale here and there but I was glad I got my doll when it first came out. I ALWAYS use the meiki plush doll with my sleeves now. It's just that much better of an experience. Besides, if you wait to order now with the sale, you won't be able to enjoy it with this  3 day labor day weekend.

haha...nice and poetic...well said.... I spread out my wishlist into a long period of time...and I just buy one thing here and there...this way I will have something new to play with from time to time and over all I'd also have something in line to purchase whenever a sale comes along...

Thats really cool that TD offers holiday discounts. According to their twitter, its a 10% discount off everything with the code "100offlaborday". Do they generally offer bigger discounts for more major holidays? What about Cyber Monday? Sorry, im a noob :/

cyber monday deals are the best ... I remember they have items like meiki extreme hip for like 199.99 on cyber monday before...that was a crazy deal...hopefully this coming cyber monday we can get some extreme deal too huh? td

Hey Daabears! I'm glad you like my crazy stories (though in this case, it was just an analogy to The Long Walk, which is supposedly based on a true story!!! The part about the desert, not about the sex toys).

I'm really enjoying the Meiki Plush Doll. So far I have only tried the Hoshino insert but today I will try Ozawa with it. What an awesome investment!
