How to get rid of silicone tackiness?
« on: August 21, 2009, 09:30:08 PM »
Silicone gets sticky/tacky after washing it. Is it talc/talcum powder you use to make it smooth/soft again, or cornstarch? I forget. Or are neither of those okay to use?

Please use talcum powder (baby powder) we haven't had experience with corn starch yet

Did some searching around with regards to silicone. Talcum powder is fine but many people warn that it is toxic and shouldn't be inhaled. Almost everyone says cornstarch is fine and they use it on their silicone dolls ($3000+) with no issues. Also, some people recommended Honey Dust by Kama Sutra.

Well Talc has caused cancer in lab rats but they inhaled it for 6 hours a day for 5 days a week over a period of 113 weeks.  I don't think you'd honestly do that but anything in abundance can cause you harm... even water.  Just look for the cornstarch based baby powders
http://www.johnsonsbaby.com/product.do?id=46 It shouldn't be hard to find.
