Ship without the Huge BOX
« on: November 03, 2011, 05:46:28 PM »
I received the meiki sister and it came in a box that was big enough to hold 10 meikis.  The Meiki is inside a sealed airtight plastic bag which is then placed into the Meiki box, which is then placed inside the Priority Mail box which is HUGE.

Is it possible to make an OPTION to ship the meiki (only with the plastic airtight bag)  inside a foam envelope?
This material is "safe drop" and does not need to be wrapped inside so many boxes like crystal ware.

It will greatly reduce the shipping cost.

Though I do understand where you're coming from, TD would never strip a packaging box just to deliver the product in plain sight.

As one is pained with paying large sums for shipping (and duty for our international friends), it is for the better that one is never offered the option to have that packaging stripped, primarily because of protection and quality assurance/control. Anything were to happen to that foam envelope (despite how durable it is), it won't be as tough as two boxes and a light plastic case. Toy Demon cannot be held responsible if something were to happen in mid-transfer, but at the same time, if something does happen and someone less reasonable than the average troll comes in and starts complaining, it does cause image damages and trust me, reason is not a word that sides with corporate image.

Another thing is customs, which they don't usually open (as they're shipped by trusted and authorized companies), an envelope will have a higher chance of being held back (for shipping something as large as this) than a box, simply because of the packaging principle (think stuffing a suntan lotion bottle in a foam envelope).

I'd agree with thunderhead, I rather receive a product in it's original packaging than getting it in OEM or raw form without the boxes even though it might save a little on shipping cost due to box weight. Especially in the case of these sensitive toy products...if it doesn't come in a sealed box....unless damaged from mid transit.. there's always that doubt in the back of my mind if the toy is used or somehow contaminated :P

For guys like OP they should ship it in a clear plastic bag so everyone knows what he's getting...haha and to top it off have the mail carrier send it to his neighbors by mistake. LOL.

I don't know why you wouldn't want the box. I swear, the meiki Sarah box was gorgeous when it arrived.
