Hey guys. So I have been doing this little test cleaning my Maria Ozawa onahole. I found that using soap to clean my MO make the texture of the canals "waxy". Even with plenty of lube, the canal still doesn't feel smooth. I've had my suspisions from the second time I used MO. I've stopped using soap to clean since. Last week. I thought I'd try to use soap to clean again, it ended up leaving the canals to create the waxy sensation. (I use Dove white soap) I always clean my toys throughly with or without soap, and the results are pretty consistant. If there are anyone curious enough to try this experiment, please do. I await your results.

I don't think you should be using bar soap... use liquid soap so you don't get residue

What koikoi said. I use liquid soap to clean out my Maria and ZXY and haven't had any problems with them.

This is a great topic and everyone should read it because it can save you alot of money and trouble in the long run, given the amount that people invest in these excellent toys.
I've been using Fleshlights for years, and the Japanese products more recently.
It's always critical to follow the basic rules with toys made of these types of materials. NEVER try to heat the toy using an actual heat source, it will melt. Best way to heat a toy is to soak it in hot water or run hot water through the canal. Then wrap a cloth or a towel around the toy during use to retain some heat.
My rule of thumb with expensive toys is NO soap, NO alcohol, NO solvents or any kind of anti-bacterial cleaners. You don't know what by-products could be in any of these things, and they have the potential to break down the materials in the toy.
Over the past ten years, I've really followed some basic rules with cleaning toys. Actually, and kind of amazingly, I've NEVER used any kind of soap with these toys. Also, I've never used rubbing alcohol or any kind of other cleaners. And it's really not necessary. Althought at first it may sound kind of non-hygenic, it really isn't! The KEY to keeping Meikis clean is to use hot water on them RIGHT after use! As soon as you are done, get hot water running through the canal until it's clear. The next key thing is VENTILATION. You CAN'T put these toys away sealed up wet! They've got to be allowed some open air so bacteria can't build up. I know different living situations make it difficult to have toys out in the open, but whatever the situation is, the toys need some kind of circulation and ventilation.
I've cleaned Fleshlights with nothing but hot water, and left them standing up afterwards for drainage, and they have stayed fresh and clean forever. The only exception to the "no soap rule" is that after a time I will use soap on Fleshlight cases, since they are hard plastic and bacteria can build up after a time in them.
Hope this helps!
